FAQs

Q: When is the museum open?  How much is admission?

The Princeville Heritage Museum is currently open Wednesdays and Fridays 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Leave a message, contact us on Facebook or the email address above to schedule a visit or tour!

Admission is free of charge and donations are always appreciated!

Q: Can I visit on a weekend or in the evening?

We are happy to schedule after-hours or weekend visits.

Please contact for group tours, after-hours, or weekend tours.

Q: I have a research question. Can you help?

We’d be happy to assist with your research! Please see our research guidelines.  Send an email with a detailed research request.  Please include as much information as possible about who/what you are researching.  General turnaround time for research requests is 2 weeks, depending on complexity.

If you’re planning to visit the museum to research, please contact the museum in advance (1-2 weeks preferably).  This way, we can have a research specialist on-site to assist you and some background research compiled.

Research is one of the ways the museum brings in much-needed funds to remain open, so please look over the suggested research fees.

Q: Will the museum staff host my class or group for a field trip or give a presentation?  What is the cost?

Yes, we have knowledgeable volunteers who are happy to host a field trip, give a presentation, or a tour to your class or group!  We have presentations on a variety of historical topics.  Ask us about the Akron Townhouse Experience, in which 3rd to 5th-grade students spend a day in the life of a one-room schoolhouse student in the early 1900s.

Our researchers are happy to tailor a presentation based on the learning directives of your class or the interests of your group given enough advance notice.

There is no charge for school field trips.

Suggested donation for presentations or lectures to your private group or club is $50 – $100.

To schedule, please email or call at least two weeks in advance.

Q: How can I support the Princeville Heritage Museum?

The Historical Association of Princeville (HAP), which operates the Princeville Heritage Museum and Akron Townhouse School is a 501c3 Not for Profit organization.  HAP is supported by our members’ dues, donations from our supporters, fundraising efforts, research request fees, and rentals of our conference room.
