Science Treasure Hunt Question #3

Historic Clothing & Everyday Life
In our collection, we have the wedding dress worn by Emma Kupfer when she married Peter Streitmatter in 1906.
The dress is sage green with long sleeves, ivory buttons, and lots of pleats.

DID YOU KNOW?

Many brides of this time period wore dresses in rich colors and expensive fabrics such as silk.  If a new dress made for the wedding was not attainable, brides simply wore their best church dress.

Wearing a white dress was not the common practice in the early 1900s.
